Georgians at the Trincomalee
From 7 to 10 August Hartlepool is expecting over 1 million visitors to its Marina to see the Tall Ships. During the five day event, cultural venues in Hartlepool have organised an array of special events themed around the Tall Ships visit.
At any time over the five days visitors can go onboard Hartlepools very own Tall Ship, HMS Trincomalee and Meet the Georgians at Hartlepools Maritime Experience, which will become a bustling Georgian seaport, filled with colour, costumes and comedy, traditional entertainment, sword fighting displays, pistol duels and much more.
Next door at the free Museum of Hartlepool visitors can enjoy A Nice Cup of Tea! From Cosies to Clippers, an exhibition about the cultivation of tea. The Museum will also be telling the story intriguing of Hartlepool, with hundreds of exhibits and colourful characters really bringing the stories to life.
Over in Church Square visitors can also drop into Hartlepool Art Gallery for free to see the new Fighting Ships exhibition which focuses on the depiction of fighting ships during the reign of George III.
In addition visitors can find about museums and galleries across the region at the I Like Museums stand in the Tall Ships Village.
