There are various ways to search the I like... museums website:
Keyword search
There are two keyword searches on the site; one at the top of every page and one on the 'I know what i like' Search page.
You can enter a word, or part of a word, into the search to find any matching museums or related trails. If you enter two words or a phrase, the search will look for any exact matches (but not matches to just one of those words).
Regional search
To find museums in a particular part of the North East, you can use the Region drop-down menu on the 'I know what i like' Search page. You can choose a whole county or part of a county. You can combine this with other searches on the same page, for example to find museums in Northumbria offering guided tours.
Facilities search
To find museums with a particular facility or service, you can use the Facilities drop-down menu on the 'I know what i like' Search page. You can combine this with other searches on the same page, for example to narrow down the search to a particular region.
If you liked that...
This search, part of the Search pages, lets you select a museum that you have already visited and gives you results of similar museums. The results are based on the 'Top Trails' – i.e. those which the museums have chosen as being their particular specialities.
We're hoping this will prompt you to try new museums, with the confidence that they will be similar to the ones you already know and like.
Museum directory
All the registered museums in the North East are listed on the Museums pages in alphabetical order. You can scroll through them, page by page, or click on the relevant letter to find a particular museum.
You can also use the location drop-down and/or the museum name keyword search on this page to search for museums.
